To pay for his photography studies, Joseph Rodríguez criss-crossed his city at the wheel of a rented ‘cab’ from 1977 to 1987. From his vehicle, he captured street scenes and portrayed his passengers: partygoers leaving nightclubs or small families in their Sunday best. The Fotomuseum in Maastricht, the Netherlands, is devoting a retrospective to the career of the 73-year-old documentary photographer.
