At the end of the General Assembly of the French-speaking Digital Network (Rabat, May 13-14, 2024), Marie Grégoire, CEO of Bibliothèque et Archives nationaux du Québec (BAnQ), was elected President of the RFN. The partnership between the OIF and the RFN is called upon to be rebuilt around the structuring of the book industry and the discoverability of French-speaking content.
The new presidency of the RFN aims to bring a vision of a united and innovative digital Francophonie. It is committed to listening to the needs of all its members to increase the presence of French-speaking documentary heritage online with a view to discoverability of its content. Attention will be paid to the knowledge and know-how facilitating the digitization chain and the processing of data and metadata in the age of artificial intelligence. Joint strategies will be developed to maximize the impact of the presence of French-speaking cultural heritage online among researchers, but also its promotion among all audiences.
Under the previous presidency provided by the Bibliothèque nationale de France (BnF), the RFN made significant progress, notably the consolidation of its network and the strengthening of international cooperation with a commitment to the preservation and promotion of cultural content. French speakers. These advances were also made possible thanks to the commitment of the Royal Library of Belgium (KBR) in its capacity as secretary general.
