OIF press release after the announcement of the results of the presidential election in chad

The OIF takes note of the publication, on May 9, 2024, by the National Election Management Agency (ANGE) of the provisional results of the presidential election of May 6, giving the candidate Mahamat Idriss Deby a majority of the votes cast.

The OIF urges all stakeholders to avoid all forms of violence and to preserve a peaceful climate through dialogue and consultation, as well as to resort to legal channels in the event of contesting the provisional results. These results must reflect the will of the Chadian people.
The OIF has 88 states and governments: 54 members, 7 associate members and 27 observers.
